THE LOWDOWN
CADIZ
Cadiz begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting 18th in the table in the bottom three and the relegation places but, quite remarkably, it could be argued that actually flatters the Andalusians at the moment. Their 1-0 loss to Deportivo Alaves, who they defeated on the opening day of the season, continued their dreadful form.
That victory against Alaves was one of two victories in their opening four matches of the season but they are now winless in 17 games since then with manager, Sergio, being sacked in the aftermath of their defeat on the Basque Country last weekend. They remain manager-less ahead of this weekend, at the time of writing.
ATHLETIC BILBAO
A few weeks ago, the manager of Athletic Club’s arch-rival, Real Sociedad’s Imanol Aguacil, described Athletic as the ‘best team in the country’ after they won the Basque Derby against La Real at San Mames. They followed that up with a loss Valencia last weekend but recovered well in midweek as they progressed into the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.
On Wednesday evening, they shared a 2-2 draw with Barcelona at home but the Williams brothers, Inaki and Nico, both scored in extra-time to clinch a dramatic victory in the cup. Under the management of former Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde, the visitors have been magnificent all season as they challenge for a top four spot and UEFA Champions league qualification in Spain.
THE TEAM NEWS

QUESTIONABLE:
ATHLETIC BILBAO
Athletic Club have a couple of key injury doubts for this weekend with both Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Alex Berenguer potentially unavailable for this one.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Agirrezabala; Lekue, Vivian, Paredes, Berchiche; Prados, Vesga; I. Williams, Sancet, N. Williams; Guruzeta
UNAVAILABLE: Dani Garcia (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Ruiz de Galarreta (Injured), Berenguer (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
Cadiz are one of the very weakest teams in Spain and, as mentioned, their position of 18th in the table arguably flatters them because they had a relatively impressive start, at least in terms of results. They now face an Athletic side that stormed into the semi-finals of the cup in midweek and have been just as good to watch in La Liga, scoring 38 goals in their 21 matches so far this season. Another comfortable away win is to be expected in this one.
TIP: ATHLETIC BILBAO TO WIN
