Sporting Braga lost 0-1 at home to Sporting Lisbon on Sunday in a fairly telling defeat for the way the ned of their Primeira Liga season is panning out. They still have the Taca de Portugal to play for come the end of the season but with Porto and Benfica above them holding a game in-hand it looks like their quest for an automatic Champions League place is slipping away. Maritimo, on the other hand, look to be rescuing their season at the death after a third win in five games away at Boavista on Sunday. Back-to-back wins over fellow relegation candidates sees them enter this Thursday night match two points outside of trouble and they will therefore be playing for any number of points here.
