Farense became the latest Primeira Liga side to make use of fifth-placed Pacos de Ferreira’s dramatic downturn in form with a 0-2 win away from home last Tuesday. The side second-from bottom have a game in-hand over three of their relegation rivals above them and could well embark on a great escape here but their best work has come on the road and they own a terrible home record. Despite a 1-5 trouncing at home to Benfica last Wednesday, Portimonense are in fairly decent form with three wins in their last five Primeira Liga games and they have won their last two away fixtures against other relegation candidates Famalicao and Nacional.
