CHINANDEGA
- Chinandega were unable to make it three wins in a row as they were comfortably defeated by Diriangen in their last outing and they know they must respond on this return to home soil.
- They were on the end of a 3-0 loss after conceding twice in quick succession in the first half before Diriangen made sure of the victory with a third midway through the second period as Chinandega failed to build on their maiden away win of the season against Municipal Jalapa.
- To make matters worse for Chinandega, they were reduced to 10 men for the final 20 minutes of the game after Kevin Venerio was shown a red card and they will have to make do without him in this contest.
REAL ESTELI
- Real Esteli have hit a poor run of form at a bad time after they failed to win for a third consecutive game in the Clausura with Juventus Managua managing to take a point from them in their last match.
- After just their third loss of the campaign against Walter Ferretti, Esteli would have been confident of responding with a home game against Juventus Managua but they were unable to find the back of the net in a goalless draw.
- Esteli now have plenty of work to do if they are to make it into the top two and may have to settle for a spot in the final series play-offs with a tricky test against a motivated Chinandega lying in wait here with changes potentially needed in the attacking third after failing to score in either of their last two games.
THE PREDICTION
Chinandega will need to focus on their own task as they prepare for a
big game with Real Esteli in light of yesterday’s controversial scenes
in the game between Juventus Managua and Real Madriz. That impact of
that result, when it is decided, could have big implications for
Chinandega’s challenge for the final series play-offs. They were heavily
beaten last time out but Real Esteli have failed to win any of their
last three and Chinandega should be able to respond by claiming at least
a point in this one back on home soil.
