Under the management of former Hellas Verona boss Ivan Juric, Torino have been guilty of flattering to deceive with an easy on the eye style of football often falling into the category of suffocation via possession; that is suffocation of both the opposition but often the match itself as a spectacle as they struggle for goals but have a very tight defensive record.
In their 23 matches in Serie A so far this season, there has been a combined total of just 41 goals with only two teams having scored fewer than the 21 that they have managed thus far but only the top two teams in the division, Juventus and Inter, having conceded fewer. Their 1-1 draw with Sassuolo last weekend means they are now unbeaten in their last five matches in Serie A.
LECCE
Lecce, who enjoyed a mid-table finish immediately after gaining promotion to the top-flight last season, lost the manager who produced that season, Marco Baroni, to Hellas Verona with former Benevento coach Roberto D’Aversa coming in and attempting to implement a similarly proactive and attacking style of football.
They do, though, come into this one on the back of some truly woeful form as they suffered yet another defeat last weekend, losing 4-0 away to Bologna on Sunday afternoon. The visitors have now lost four defeats in five Serie A matches with just one win, a 3-2 victory over Fiorentina earlier this month, in their last eight matches.

As mentioned, Torino can be an extremely frustrating team to watch with an insistence on controlling possession to prevent the opposition from hurting them, rather than necessarily attempting to proactively get after them. They face a Lecce side that have more attacking intent than Torino but have lacked the quality and efficiency in the final third to be high-scoring themselves. It is difficult to see Torino losing what is expected to be a low-scoring affair.
