Alessio Dionisi has been under pressure for his job for around 18 months now but he remains in charge of a Sassuolo side that suffered yet another fairly heavy defeat last weekend. They were beaten 4-2 by Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara, despite leading Thiago Motta’s side by two goals to one at the half-time interval.
That made it three successive losses in Serie A for the Emilio-Romagna based outfit. In 22 matches so far this season, only bottom-of-the-table Salernitana have suffered more defeats than Sassuolo’s 13 and only Salernitana, again, as well as Frosinone, who only gained promotion last season, have conceded more than the 41 that they have let in.
TORINO
Despite their intentions, Torino’s style of football has remained consistently low scoring under the management of Ivan Juric with the Piedmont-based club lacking any real precision in the final third. Despite that, though, they have remained effective as they challenge for a top-half finish and potentially even a push towards the top seven and the European spots.
In their 22 matches so far this season, Torino have only managed to score 20 goals and only the bottom two teams in the league, Empoli and Salernitana, have managed fewer than that. Their current four-match unbeaten run of form, though, which continued with a goalless draw at home to bottom-of-the-table Salernitana last weekend has closed the gap on the top seven to three points.

THE PREDICTION
In theory, these are two sides coached by ideologues that are aiming to implement fairly sophisticated patterns of play and overhaul their teams with complex styles but neither have quite managed it. Whilst neither have managed to do that, Torino have at least become very effective and a genuine nuisance to play against. Up against a struggling Sassuolo side, a double chance bet in favour of the away team looks the way to go for this one.
