THE LOWDOWN
INTER MILAN
Heading into one of the showpiece fixtures on the Italian football calendar, Internazionale come into this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just a point above their upcoming opponents at the top-of-the-table, with a game-in-hand. Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri have been excellent in both defence and attack this season but will be very nervous about the machine that is chasing them.
Inter returned from Saudi Arabia last weekend, where they had defeated both Lazio and Napoli en route to winning this season’s Supercoppa Italiana, by defeating Fiorentina by a goal to nil at the Artemio Franchi. They have scored 50 goals and conceded just ten in 21 matches so far this season as they look to secure a 20th Italian title.
JUVENTUS
In his second stint in charge of the club, Massimiliano Allegri is embodying and managing Juventus’ win at all costs identity more than ever. Inter’s free-scoring manner with 50 in 21 has them just one point ahead of The Old Lady, despite the fact that Juve have scored just 36 in 22 so far this season. It is most certainly set to be a clash of styles at San Siro on Sunday night.
The Bianconeri come into this one on the back of a desperately frustrating 1-1 draw with struggling Empoli in their most recent outing, last weekend. That disappointing result had followed on from seven successive victories in all competitions and 18 goals scored in five matches since the turn of the year.

THE PREDICTION
Despite there only being a point in it at the top-of-the-table, many would actually suggest there has been a major gulf the two teams this season and a home win would finally make that gulf shown in the standings. Inter would move four points clear with a game-in-hand and that would appear a lot more suited to how far ahead they have been of Juve this season. With their home advantage, Inter are favourites for this one as Juve come up against a team that will actively take the game to them, rather than attempt to contain a functional Allegri setup.
TIP: INTER TO WIN
