After avoiding the drop via the end of season relegation playoff against Spezia last season, Hellas Verona are very much involved in the Serie A relegation battle once again, beginning this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting firmly in the bottom three and the relegation places after just four victories in their 24 matches so far this season.
Verona, for just the second time ever and the first time since they won the Scudetto, began the campaign with back-to-back victories but have, of course, managed just two wins since then. They come into this one on the back of a goalless draw away to Monza in their most recent outing, last weekend, meaning they are now winless in four matches.
JUVENTUS
Massimiliano Allegri’s second stint in charge of Juventus has generally been a positive one with the Bianconeri looking set to return to UEFA Champions League football next season. However, they have now all but completely fallen out of the title race with Inter extending their lead to seven points last weekend and also having a game in hand on Juve.
The Old Lady were held to a 1-1 draw by Empoli in late January before then suffering a 1-0 defeat at San Siro to the aforementioned Inter in the Derby d’Italia. Then, in their most recent outing last weekend, Juventus suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Udinese at the Allianz Stadium with a 25th minute winning goal scored by Lautaro Giannetti.

THE PREDICTION
A few weeks ago this one would have appeared a foregone conclusion with Juventus in impeccable form as they mount a title challenge. Now, though, there are a few concerns that the visitors are finding it too difficult to break teams down. Their lack of fluency in attack has been a theme with only 37 goals scored but they have often simply found a way. Verona might prove to be yet more stubborn opposition but Juve should still be able to edge to victory in this one.
