THE LOWDOWN

FROSINONE

Former Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco replaced Fabio Grosso in the Frosinone dugout last summer, despite Grosso leading Frosinone to automatic promotion back to the top-flight of Italian football. The Romans have performed well, too, to move away from the bottom three and the relegation places with a proactive and attacking style of football.

Their 24 matches, of which they have won six with five draws and 13 defeats, have consisted of a combined total of 81 goals, scoring 32 and conceding 49. They do, though, come into this one on the back of back-to-back defeats with a 5-1 loss to Fiorentina and a 3-2 defeat at home to AC Milan in a game in which they led with less than 15 minutes to go.

ROMA

In January, Roma decided to part company with Jose Mourinho in order to appoint club legend Daniele De Rossi and the Giallorossi have played a much-improved, far more proactive style of football that is helping them launch themselves towards the top four, once again. The entertaining Romans come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Feyenoord in midweek.

Igor Paixao gave the Rotterdam-based club a first-half lead before Romelu Lukaku equalised later on, leaving the tie evenly poised ahead of the second-leg at the Stadio Olimpico of their UEFA Europa Conference League knockout playoff tie next Thursday. The five matches that De Rossi has been in charge for has consisted of 18 goals with both teams scoring in four of those games.

THE PREDICTION

This Roman derby, in which Eusebio Di Francesco is seeking revenge on his former club, has the potential to be extremely entertaining for the neutral. Frosinone, as mentioned, are playing a front foot, high pressing style of football that will aim to put their visiting opposition under pressure. Roma, also as mentioned, have been a lot more fun to watch since the arrival of Daniele De Rossi and, as a result of that, both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one.
