THE PREDICTION
Defeat away to just promoted Venezia last week made it three defeats in Fiorentina’s last four matches. The hosts had an exciting start to the campaign with an attacking trident of Nico Gonzalez, Dusan Vlahovic, Giacomo Bonaventura and Jose Callejon offering a potency to their attack that would hopefully lead to them finishing in the European positions this season; they will need to start firing again if they are to do that, though. They now come up against a Cagliari side that avoided relegation last season with a late rally but have once again started poorly. The Sardinians did win their first game last weekend against Sampdoria but they remain firmly in the bottom three and the relegation places ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. Fiorentina will come into this expecting to win.
