Daniil Medvedev vs Coleman Wong prediction

Daniil Medvedev advanced to the quarter-finals of the Hangzhou Open after overcoming 2025 finalist Valentin Royer in straight sets. The former world number one edged clear after a tight first set before controlling the second to win 7-6 (6) 6-3. This was Medvedev’s first match since losing at the round-of-16 stage of the US Open to Frances Tiafoe. He will be hoping to add a third title of the campaign, following success in Brisbane and Dubai in 2026.

He now plays Coleman Wong. The 22-year-old battled his way past Adolfo Daniel Vallejo. He could only convert one out of 11 break point opportunities, but he finally broke Vallejo’s serve in the fourth game of the final set and went on to win 7-6 (2) 4-6 6-3. Wong is through to his fourth tour-level quarter-final of the season.

Medvedev is the top seed in Hangzhou and should be viewed as the clear favourite to come through this one.
