Kyrian Jacquet vs Andrey Rublev prediction
Kyrian Jacquet continued his excellent run at the Hangzhou Open after beating sixth seed Fabian Marozsan in straight sets. A dramatic first set tiebreak saw the Frenchman save four set points before eventually claiming it 14-12. The second was more straightforward, with Jacquet winning 7-6 (12) 6-3. He was not broken on serve and won 85% of his first serve points. Jacquet has also picked up victories against Aleksandar Vukic and Tomas Martin Etcheverry this week. He is now through to his first tour-level semi-final.
Jacquet faces second seed Andrey Rublev. The Russian had to come from a set down to see off Hugo Gaston. Rublev was 6-1 up in the first set tiebreak but relinquished control as Gaston remarkably won seven points in a row to take the lead. Rublev’s level dipped once again in the second as he failed to serve it out on two occasions, having opened up a 5-2 lead. Nevertheless, he would level the match in another tiebreak and dominated the rest of the encounter to win 6-7 (6) 7-6 (4) 6-1.
Jacquet has performed superbly so far and Rublev will have to improve if he is to get through this one comfortably.
