Carlos Alcaraz vs Alex de Minaur prediction

Carlos Alcaraz has picked up a total of three points for Team Europe so far at this year’s edition of the Laver Cup. The Spaniard partnered Jakub Mensik on day one and the pair won their doubles match against Alexander Bublik and Taylor Fritz. Alcaraz then faced Fritz in the singles a day later, and a dramatic encounter saw the world number three save two match points in the 10-point deciding tiebreak before going on to win. 

He will now take on Alex de Minaur. The Australian staged a magnificent comeback on day two to beat world number two and two-time Grand Slam champion Alexander Zverev. De Minaur was a set and a break down but dug deep to win in the deciding breaker. He remains unbeaten in singles matches at the Laver Cup.

Alcaraz dominates the head-to-head, leading 6-0 overall. Their last match was at the quarter-final stage of this year's Australian Open, with the 23-year-old easily winning 7-5 6-2 6-1 on his way to a maiden slam in Melbourne. De Minaur’s record at this event deserves respect, but he’s a huge underdog against Alcaraz.
