Alexander Zverev vs Learner Tien prediction

Alexander Zverev experienced mixed fortunes on day two of the Laver Cup. He served for the match against Alex de Minaur and also had a match point in the 10-point deciding tiebreak, but was unable to get the job done as he was beaten by the Australian in the singles for the second year running at the event. However, he redeemed himself later on in the doubles, teaming up with Casper Ruud to win their match against Alexander Bublik and Brandon Nakashima.

Learner Tien is set to be his opponent on the final day. The American marked his debut with a win over Flavio Cobolli in the opening match of day two. Tien lost his way in the second set but regrouped brilliantly to win the decider against the Italian.

Zverev leads the head-to-head 2-1. They last faced each other at the quarter-final stage of this year’s Australian Open, with the German prevailing in four sets. However, Tien did win their first meeting in Acapulco last year. The slower court conditions are likely to be similar to those in Mexico, and Tien has enough grit and patience to frustrate Zverev in the longer rallies.
