THE LOWDOWN
AC MILAN
Under the management of Stefano Pioli, AC Milan would have expected to challenge for the title this season but the Rossoneri have actually been fairly underwhelming after a busy summer transfer window. It does appear to just be a transitional campaign so a top four spot would be sufficient to be deemed a successful season at this stage.
They come into this one on the back of an entertaining 3-2 defeat of Udinese in Friuli last week in a game overshadowed by Milan having to walk off the pitch due to racial abuse aimed at Mike Maignan. The home team have now enjoyed four successive Serie A victories and they are unbeaten in their last six matches.
BOLOGNA
Following the appointment of Thiago Motta towards the start of the 2022/23 campaign, Bologna have been very impressive as they challenge for a top four finish and potential UEFA Champions League qualification this season. However, they have been underwhelming in their recent run of form as they drift away from the top four.
The visitors come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss to relegation battling Cagliari in their most recent outing, a couple of weeks ago. Bologna are now winless in their last four matches across all competitions. They have struggled for goals throughout the campaign with just 23 goals scored in their 20 matches.

THE PREDICTION
A couple of months ago this one would have seemed like a much tighter and closer contest in the battle for a top four spot and UEFA Champions League qualification. However, as mentioned, AC Milan have very much re-established themselves as comfortably in the top four. Bologna, on the other hand, have begun to drift down the table but do at least welcome Joshua Zirkzee back into the eleven. Milan are firm favourites for this one, though, especially at San Siro.
