Atalanta were at their rampant best over the weekend as they thrashed Sassuolo 5-1 – their biggest win of the season – and they have now gone five games unbeaten with Gian Piero Gasperini’s men resembling the side that were feared throughout Europe last season. Parma, meanwhile, were abject in their 0-3 defeat to lowly Torino on Sunday as their dismal slump continued, and there are reports circulating that manager Fabio Liverani could be shown the door if his side once more fail to impress here. Atalanta will not be in a charitable mood though, which could be the nail in the coffin for Liverani, with a comfortable home win expected.
