THE LOWDOWN
EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
Many expected Eintracht Frankfurt to continue their excellent recent form with another positive result last weekend away to FC Cologne. Alas, as we so often see in the Bundesliga, the script was flipped and Eintracht were simply not at the races, losing against the strugglers by two goals to nil after a horrendous second-half showing.
Dino Toppmoller will demand a response from his side on their own ground, but has a decision to make regarding which striker to play, with Omar Marmoush no doubt hoping to be recalled. Thankfully from their perspective, Freiburg also losing meant that Eintracht maintained their three-point cushion between themselves and seventh-place.
BOCHUM
Bochum have proven inconsistent lately, winning one of their last four league games, with two draws and a win also to their name. However, you have to go back to early November against rock-bottom Darmstadt for the last time that they won on the road, with all their victories since then coming at home.
Goalkeeper Michael Essen and right-back Mohammed Tolba are both injured in won’t feature in Frankfurt. If Bochum are to be successful, they’ll need a strong defensive performance, but also show a clinical edge when the chance for them to score does come along, because a side like Eintracht will punish them otherwise.

THE PREDICTION
A team of Eintracht Frankfurt’s quality will be expected to bounce back quickly after a poor performance at FC Cologne and they’ll be looking to prove a point here. Bochum will struggle to match the hosts if they play to their capabilities and whilst the Bochum backline is unlikely to be broken down easily, Eintracht should do enough to ultimately pick up the three points.
TIP: EINTRACHT FRANKFURT TO WIN
