THE TEAM NEWS
HAMBURGER SV
- Hamburger SV were able to move into second place in Bundesliga 2 as they picked up a point on the road at Greuther Furth last week but they will be annoyed that they did not collect all three points.
- Hamburg fell behind in the 35th minute but goals either side of half-time from Joel Pohjanpalo and Jeremy Dudziak looked to have sealed the win for the away side until they conceded deep into stoppage time.
- They will look to shake that disappointment as they return to home soil where they have lost just two league games so far this season and they will hope that Josha Vagnoman will be available for selection after the right-back picked up a knock last week.
ARMINIA BIELEFELD
- Arminia Bielefeld were unable to take advantage of their promotion rivals slipping up as they had to settle for a point at home to Osnabruck after conceding deep into stoppage which made the league leaders pay for not killing the game off.
- Fabian Klos converted from the spot in the 17th minute but Arminia failed to kick-on and could not find a second goal which proved to be costly as a goal in the 94th minute from Osnabruck ensured the visitors would not go home empty-handed.
- Despite the disappointment of failing to claim all three points, Arminia were able to extend their unbeaten run to eight Bundesliga 2 matches and they will be confident ahead of this top of the table clash, although they will be without suspended right-back Cedric Brunner.
THE PREDICTION
Hamburger SV host Arminia Bielefeld in a mouth-watering contest at
the top of the Bundesliga 2 table with the home side desperate to keep
the title race alive. Both teams conceded deep into stoppage time last
week which cost each of them the three points and they will be eager to
put that disappointment behind them when going head-to-head here. The
respective home and away form of the two teams leaves little to split
the two and with plenty of attacking talent on show, this should be an
open contest with goals at either end.
