THE LOWDOWN
REIMS
Will Still has been heavily linked with jobs in the Championship, such as Sunderland, but he is under pressure at Stade de Reims after an underwhelming run of form. That run of form and slide was arrested last weekend, though, with a much-needed 2-1 defeat of Le Havre in their most recent outing.
Mohamed Daramy scored a brace as ten-man Reims won with Daramy scoring a 96th minute winning penalty in that match. That was their tenth win of the Ligue 1 campaign as they remain tucked inside the top-half of the table and still in a position to compete for a top five spot and European qualification.
LILLE
Reims are four points behind their upcoming opponents, Lille, who begin the weekend sitting tucked inside the top five of the table. Former Shakhtar Donetsk and Roma boss Paulo Fonseca has Lille playing an easy on the eye style of football but their best attribute so far this season has been building on an impressive defensive record.
The northerners come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat away to Toulouse in their most recent outing, last weekend, with Lille having a lead at half-time in that match. They have now managed just two victories in their last six matches across all competitions as they hit a bit of a sticky patch.

THE PREDICTION
Reims are one of the more proactive sides in France’s Ligue 1 with 61 goals coming in their 23 matches thus far – which is fairly entertaining by Ligue 1 standards. Lille are also a team that, as mentioned, despite their impressive number of clean sheets, also play on the front foot and play a progressive style. This one would appear likely to be quite a fun and easy watch for the neutral with both teams scoring looking a good bet.
