MONACO
Monaco have surrendered their spot in the top five and they are now under the very real threat of missing out on a spot in Europe next season. They have blown it of late and suffered a second loss in succession as they were on the end of a 2-0 loss to Rennes.
Two goals in the second half saw them succumb to that loss and Monaco have now managed to win just one of their last six matches with their form deserting them at the worst possible time.
On home soil, Monaco have failed to score in their last two and they have managed to win just two of their last six home games with that record needing to improve here to have any chance of returning to the top five.
TOULOUSE
Toulouse’s winless run continued as they played out a fourth draw in succession. They did at least manage to end their run without a goal with their 1-1 stalemate against Auxerre but it is the three points they will be eager to claim here.
They scored for the first time in five matches through Zakaria Aboukhlal’s leveller just before the break but they could not find a winner in the second half with Toulouse having to settle for another point.
However, despite their recent underwhelming run, they have avoided defeat in their last four away games and have also kept three clean sheets in succession on their travels.
THE PREDICTION
This could well turn into a typical end of season game despite Monaco needing a result to try and earn European football. They have fallen out of the top five and now run into a Toulouse side that have kept things tight at the back in recent encounters. They have been tough to break down when playing away from home and with under 2.5 goals scored in their last six matches, they can end the season with another solid defensive effort.
