THE TEAM NEWS
IF
- IF registered a shock 2-1 win away from home against Skala on the opening weekend of the 2020 season and in doing so equalled the total amount of victories they mustered in the whole of their 2019 league campaign.
- Both of their goals came courtesy of Uros Stojanov who was making his debut for the club. The Serbian striker gave them the lead in the first half and doubled the advantage early in the second period and, although Skala did threaten to make a comeback, the IF defence held firm.
- It is unlikely that any significant changes will be made to the team following the success against Skala. Stojanov’s fellow countryman Filip Djordjevic also made a telling contribution on his debut and their partnership could again be a threat in this game.
HB
- HB began their 2020 campaign with a 1-0 victory against EB/Streymur last Saturday with a goal from last season’s top scorer Adrian Justinussen in the first period giving them the three points.
- They did make hard work of it though. Despite having bossed the possession and shots on goal statistics they were never able to find the second goal that would have made things more comfortable.
- HB won comprehensively in both of their league matches against IF last season, with a 5-1 victory away from home in June followed by a 6-0 home win in August.
THE PREDICTION
IF earned a tremendous victory on the opening day of the season, but they will have their work cut out in repeating the feat against a team that inflicted two heavy defeats on them last season. HB didn’t make it easy for themselves against EB/Streymur last time out but they still created plenty of chances and it is unlikely they will squander as many on this occasion. A 3-1 win for HB is the prediction.
