THE TEAM NEWS

MAN CITY

The big news from Pep Guardiola’s pre-match press conference is that key striker, Erling Haaland, will return to the first-team squad having been injured for the last couple of months. It is not clear that he will start, though.

The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku and John Stones have all recently returned from respective injury absences. Only Switzerland international defender, Manuel Akanji, was a doubt but he has also returned.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake, Gvardiol; Rodri, Silva; Foden, De Bruyne, Doku; Alvarez

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE:

BURNLEY

Vincent Kompany has said ‘there will be some positive news in there’ with regards to players returning from injuries, having been asked whether the likes of Charlie Taylor, Sander Berge, Jordan Beyer, Aaron Ramsey and Hannes Delcroix could return this week.

New signing, David Datro Fofana, has been described as ‘ready to go’ by Kompany but former Southampton winger, Nathan Redmond, has joined Luca Koleosho as being ruled out for the rest of this season.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Trafford; Vitinho, O’Shea, Ekdal, Al-Dakhil; Gudmundsson, Cullen, Brownhill, Odobert; Foster, Amdouni

UNAVAILABLE: Redmond (Injured), Koleosho (Injured), Taylor (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Beyer (Injured), Berge (Illness), Ramsey (Illness), Delcroix (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have seemingly begun their typically relentless charge towards the end of the campaign. They endured a sticky run of form in late autumn but come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the weekend, extending their unbeaten run of form to ten matches across all competitions. They face a Burnley side that have stuck to their principles of playing an open and front foot style of football but, just like they did in their 6-0 loss at the Etihad in the FA Cup last season, they are expected to be on the end of a heavy defeat.

TIP: MAN CITY TO WIN -2 HANDICAP
