Following on from his announcement that he would depart the club at the end of this season, Jurgen Klopp immediately inspired Liverpool to two heavy home victories against Norwich City and Chelsea respectively in the next week, scoring nine goals in those two matches. However, they were pegged back last weekend and will need to rediscover some momentum as they face Burnley.
The Reds were beaten 3-1 by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last Sunday afternoon, meaning that they are no longer in control of the Premier League title race as Manchester City sit two points behind but have a game in hand. Klopp’s men have remained exceptional across all competitions so far this season, though.
BURNLEY
Following promotion as runaway champions in the Championship last season, Vincent Kompany decided to stick with those principles that saw Burnley so dominant in the second-tier but did so with an almost entirely renovated squad. It has been a tough campaign for The Clarets with just three wins in their 23 matches so far this season.
The Lancastrians did show some real fight last week as they fought back from 2-0 down at Turf Moor to share a 2-2 draw with Fulham. A brace from January signing David Datro Fofana, on loan from Chelsea, managed to cancel out early goals from Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Muniz. They have conceded more than two goals per game on average so far.

It has been confirmed that Mohamed Salah will be unavailable for this weekend but could return to training ahead of the next match day. Thiago Alcantara has suffered an injury setback and will be unavailable.
Dominik Szoboszlai is 'running outside' but remains unable to feature, whilst Wataru Endo has returned from the AFC Asian Cup after Japan's elimination last weekend.

In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Vincent Kompany has said that he is ‘quite positive’ on the fitness of defenders Hannes Delcroix and Charlie Taylor. He did say they will have to wait for the final training session before the weekend, though.
The Clarets remain without wingers Nathan Redmond and Luca Koleosho, who will be missing until the end of the season. Jordan Beyer is also among the doubts but is reportedly further back than the aforementioned Delcroix and Taylor.

THE PREDICTION
Liverpool’s impressive defensive record this season will lead Jurgen Klopp and his side to believe the mistakes that were made last week were just an aberration and they will be extremely confident of bouncing back with a comfortable victory at Anfield on Saturday afternoon. They face a Burnley side that will likely go to play some front foot football on Merseyside but they remain toothless in attack and should be exposed at the back so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a messy scoreline as Liverpool aim to get back on the winning track.
