THE LOWDOWN

FULHAM

Under the management of Marco Silva, Fulham come into this one on the back of a famous victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United, last weekend. The Cottagers took the lead in that game before being pegged back late on by a Harry Maguire equaliser but then Alex Iwobi pinched all three points with a 97th minute winning goal.

The west Londoners begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table after a bizarre campaign thus far. They have been inconsistent; at times irresistible but also, at times, a seeming relegation candidate. Their 26 matches have consisted of 78 goals so far this season.

BRIGHTON

Brighton and Hove Albion were dealt a blow in midweek as the Seagulls suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux with a second minute winning goal from Mario Lemina in the fifth round of the FA Cup. That will allow Roberto De Zerbi’s men to focus solely on the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.

In the Premier League, they begin this match day sitting tucked inside the top seven and the European spots with ten victories, nine draws and seven defeats. Their 26 matches have consisted of 90 goals thus far. They have the added distraction of UEFA Europa League football in midweek as they face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

THE TEAM NEWS

FULHAM

Marco Silva has no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues with their only unavailable player being Mexican international striker, Raul Jimenez.

The Cottagers will also still be without key midfielder Joao Palhinha, who missed last week's win at Manchester United through suspension.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Adarabioyo, Bassey, Robinson; Reed, Lukic; Wilson, Pereira, Iwobi; Muniz

UNAVAILABLE: Palhinha (Suspended), Jimenez (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

BRIGHTON

Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Ireland international striker Evan Ferguson will return to the squad, alongside defensive duo Tariq Lamptey and Joel Veltman, who had also been absent.

They still have several other important absentees with Billy Gilmour serving a suspension and the likes of Joao Pedro and Kaoru Mitoma among those that are sidelined through injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Lamptey, Van Hecke, Dunk, Igor; Gross, Lallana; Buonanotte, Welbeck, Adingra; Ferguson

UNAVAILABLE: Milner (Injured), Gilmour (Suspended), Hinshelwood (Injured), March (Injured), Joao Pedro (Injured), Mitoma (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

This one has the potential to be an entertaining and easy on the eye game to watch at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. Fulham are a proactive side and have plenty of options now with the likes of Alex Iwobi contributing on return from the Africa Cup of Nations. Brighton could take their eye off the league as they prioritise their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie with Roma in midweek but an entertaining encounter is to be expected with both teams scoring seeming quite likely.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
