For the second time this year, Hong Kong and Malaysia meet in T20i competition. It was the former who came out on top back in June, Hong Kong winning by six wickets in Singapore. But prior to that, Malaysia had won each of the last three T20 fixtures between these two nations and all signs point to a close encounter on this occasion.
Hong Kong has an extremely well-balanced bowling attack to call upon and with the pitches somewhat of an unknown in Japan, having all base covered will be vital. Their batters have shown impressive composure under pressure in the past and when combined with their bowling unit’s ability to stifle hitters, backing them over Malaysia warrants consideration.
