Travel Distances 2023/24 – English League 1

Here at TSZ we have put together a list of all the travel distances for the 2023/24 English League 1 season.

The distances have been determined by using the shortest route by road on Google Maps at the time of writing. The mileage shown is for one-way journeys from a team's home stadium to the opponent's home stadium for all away games in the league campaign. The results DO NOT factor in the return journey, and as this is strictly a 'by road' analysis, other means of transport (e.g. train) are not considered.

TOTAL DISTANCES

  • Carlisle fans who travel to every away game in League 1 will total over 5000 miles over the course of the 2023/24 League 1 season - more than any other team in the division.
  • The Northampton faithful have less than half that distance to travel, with their average trip coming in at just over 100 miles.

WHAT IS THE LONGEST AWAY TRIP IN LEAGUE 1?

  • The 354-mile journey between Carlisle and Exeter is the longest in League 1 this season.
  • Burton are the only team in League 1 who will not have to travel over 200 miles for any league fixture in the 2023/24 campaign.

WHAT IS THE SHORTEST AWAY TRIP IN LEAGUE 1?

  • The seven-mile trip between London outfits Charlton and Leyton Orient is the shortest in League 1.
  • Although Carlisle's trip to Fleetwood is their shortest of the league season, it still comes in at close to 100 miles.
