Flavio Cobolli vs Yoshihito Nishioka prediction

Yoshihito Nishioka maintained his perfect record against Jenson Brooksby to reach the second round in Washington. 

The Japanese moved to 3-0 in the head-to-head with the more in-form American coueresy of a 6-4 5-7 6-1 win. 

Nishioka will now face Flavio Cobolli for the third time with the match-up tied at 1-1 thanks to a victory apiece on hard courts last year. 

The Italian is currently operating at a career-high having cracked the top 20 but his best form has been on clay and not hard courts.

That may give Nishioka more of a chance than many are anticipating, but Cobolli has a higher ceiling and if he produces some of the tennis that saw him push Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon, the ninth seed should be too strong.
