Fiona Ferro vs Danka Kovinic prediction
Fiona Ferro enters this event as a qualifier following two straight wins. She also competed on the ITF circuit in Paris last week, but was handed a very tough draw as she lost to 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys in her opening match. Nevertheless, Ferro won a lower-level title in Oeiras at the end of last month, beating Polina Kudermetova in the final. Her win-loss record is encouraging at this point of the season, with 18 wins and eight losses.
She takes on Danka Kovinic in the first-round. She has barely competed at this level in recent years, as a result of a number of injuries, and this will be just her second event of the season. Kovinic was ranked inside the top 50 in the world rankings a decade ago, but she is now outside of the top 600.
She is likely to be well short of match fitness, and this has the makings of a straight-forward win for Ferro in the first-round.
