Filip Misolic held off a fightback from 27th seed Denis Shapovalov to win a five set thriller and make it through to the third-round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. The Austrian won 7-6 7-6 4-6 4-6 6-3 and has made real strides this month, having also won a title on the Challenger Tour in Prague.
He will now face 24-tme Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in the next round. The Serbian extended his unbeaten run to six matches after beating Corentin Moutet in straight sets in his second-round match. Djokovic made a strong start and managed to recover from going a break down in the third, saving a set point as he wrapped up a 6-2 6-3 7-6 win.
Djokovic is enjoying his best run of form for some time, having just won his 100th title in Geneva last week. We predict that he’ll continue this upturn in fortunes with a comfortable straight sets victory.
