Fabian Marozsan defeated Luca Nardi 6-2 6-3 7-6 to book his place in the second-round of the French Open for the second successive year. The Hungarian made the semi-final of the BMW Open last month and also defeated Joao Fonseca and Andrey Rublev on his way to reaching the third-round of the Italian Open.
The Hungarian is a dangerous player but is now up against Carlos Alcaraz. The defending champion, who has lost just once on clay this year, began his campaign with a comfortable 6-3 6-4 6-2 win over Giulio Zeppieri. Alcaraz did not lose serve and struck 31 winners in under two hours.
The Hungarian can take confidence from a victory in Rome two years ago over Alcaraz, which remains their only match on clay. The Spaniard won their most recent match in Indian Wells last year. Despite that shock victory, Alcaraz looks in imperious form as he aims for back-to-back Roland Garros titles and we expect a comfortable win for the world number two.
