Exeter vs Nottingham Forest Prediction

Exeter City have let their League One form slip, although they remain firmly in the middle-of-the-table ahead of facing top four chasing Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

Gary Caldwell’s Grecians defeated Championship side Oxford United last month but the hosts come into this one on the back of a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Stevenage last weekend, making it three successive defeats and they have now managed to collect just two points in their last eight matches since the back end of 2024.

Nottingham Forest suffered a 5-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago but they returned to form with a 7-0 demolition of Brighton and Hove Albion at the City Ground last weekend. Nuno Espirito Santo’s priority is likely to ensure they finish in the top four or five in the Premier League and earn a shock UEFA Champions League qualification.

Despite the fact that that is likely the visitors’ top priority, they have cultivated something of a deep squad so even with rotation will be strong here. Exeter, with home advantage, will fancy their chances of hurting their opponents but Forest do remain firm favourites.
