Everton Preview: Toffees have got stuck

David Moyes’ return to Everton has been a generally positive one as they easily push themselves into the middle-of-the-table and well clear of the bottom three and the relegation places but the Toffees have hit a bit of a rough patch of form of late.

The Toffees come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend due a first-half winner scored by Nicolas Jackson. That means the Evertonians have now managed just one win in their last nine matches.

Ipswich Preview: Playing for pride

Ipswich Town have experienced a rollercoaster ride in the last couple of years, earning themselves back-to-back automatic promotions to propel themselves from League One to the Premier League but it has been a very tough campaign for the Tractor Boys.

The Suffolk-based outfit were hammered by three goals to nil at St James’ Park by Newcastle United due to goals from Alexander Isak, Dan Burn and Will Osula last weekend. They have won just four of their 34 matches so far this season.

Everton Team News: Broja returns

According to David Moyes, England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin has returned to training this week and he could feature off the bench this weekend. They also have another boost in attack as Armando Broja will return to action having been ineligible to face parent club Chelsea last weekend.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O’Brien, Keane, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Harrison, Doucoure, Ndiaye; Broja

Unavailable: Tarkowski (Injured), Mangala (Injured), Lindstrom (Injured)

Questionable: Calvert-Lewin (Fitness)

Ipswich Team News: Several issues

Without naming names, Kieran McKenna did say that Ipswich Town will have to make some 'late calls' on some players. They are dealing several first-teamers due to injury and full-backs Ben Johnson and Leif Davis are also unavailable for the Tractor Boys due to suspension issues.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Palmer; O’Shea, Woolfenden, Burgess, Greaves; Morsy, Cajuste; Hutchinson, Enciso, Clarke; Delap

Unavailable: Muric (Injured), Davis (Suspended), Townsend (Injured), Johnson (Suspended), Burns (Injured), Philogene (Injured), Ogbene (Injured), Szmodics (Injured)

Questionable: Tuanzebe (Injured), Phillips (Injured), Broadhead (Injured)

Everton vs Ipswich Prediction

Everton have perhaps coasted a little bit of late with a mid-table finish locked up a couple of months ago but they will want to send Goodison Park off with a couple of good performances and good results. They face an Ipswich side that have met what was an inevitable end in terms of relegation and could be in danger of going down with a bit of a whimper, especially with so many availability concerns. Everton, with home advantage, have to expect a good win here.
