The prediction

In 12 matches so far this season, Essendon have won just one with 11 defeats as they sit rock-bottom in the AFL ladder. Essendon now come into this one on the back of a 30-point hammering at the hands of an inconsistent West Coast Eagles side.

They now face a Carlton side that endured a tough opening few rounds, both on and off the pitch, but the Victorians have improved of late with that continuing last week as they edged past a strong Geelong side with a slender four-point win.

Carlton have now enjoyed a three-match winning streak since the sacking of head coach Michael Voss and interim coach Josh Fraser will be confident of overseeing another victory here.
