Espanyol preview: Woeful form
Manolo Gonzalez and his Espanyol side were tucked in the top six for much of this campaign after a bright start but the Catalans have been drifting for a while and there is now mounting pressure on their manager this weekend.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Real Mallorca in the Balearic Islands last weekend, extending their winless run of form to 11 matches in La Liga since the turn of the year.
Getafe preview: Great form
In the meantime, Jose Bordalas' band of aggressors, Getafe, have managed to close the gap on eighth placed Espanyol to just one point ahead of this weekend's round of fixtures - with the top eight likely enough for European football.
The visitors do head into this one on the back of a slender and hard-fought 1-0 defeat to city rivals Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano last weekend with Nahuel Molina scoring the only goal of the game early on there.
