The state of English cricket is a bad one at the moment. Test cricket is a mess, One-Day International cricket has been a struggle for over half a decade. They have had moments in IT20 cricket but do appear set for a transitional period with a fairly average squad.
India are the world champions and have an immense amount of depth but they stumbled last week with a full-strength side in Belfast. Having lost the first IT20, they then succumbed to a 2-0 series defeat with a one-run loss in the second game.
The Indians did post 189-7 the other day and appeared to rediscover some touch before the rain came and backing India remains the way to go for this one.
