Emiliana Arango vs Viktoriya Tomova prediction

Emiliana Arango is struggling for form heading into this event. She lost in the first-round to compatriot Camila Osorio in straight-sets in Madrid. She then decided to compete on the Challenger Tour at the Catalonia Open last week but suffered another early exit as she was defeated by Aliaksandra Sasnovich despite taking the first set.

The Colombian is yet to win a match on the main draw since reaching the final of the Merida Open at the beginning of March. However, Arango will take some confidence from winning both matches at the qualifying stages to compete in Rome. 

Viktoriya Tomova is in similarly poor form, with her clay court season struggling to get going. She suffered straight set losses in the first-round in both Charleston and Madrid. Her last victory on the tour was in the middle of March in the first-round of Miami.

Neither player will be confident heading into this one but we favour Tomova to get her first clay court win of the season in three sets.
