Emiliana Arango vs Oksana Selekhmeteva prediction
Emiliana Arango battled in her first-round match against Hailey Baptiste at Indian Wells but ultimately lost out in three sets. That follows on from her retirement in the second-round of the Merida Open against Marie Bouzkova, having made the final last year. Her ranking has now dropped to outside of the top 100 and she has lost seven of her eight matches in 2026.
She faces Oksana Selekhmeteva. She lost in the opening round of Indian Wells to Kimberley Birrell and then decided to drop down and compete in the WTA 125 event in Austin. Selekhmeteva won her first-round match against Yue Yuan but then lost to Sinja Kraus in three sets. Her best result of the season was a quarter-final appearance at the ATX Open last month.
Selekhmeteva is now up to a ranking high of 71 in the world and has picked up results in the opening months of the season, in comparison to Arango. She deserves to be seen as the favourite to come through this one.
