She will now face Veronika Podrez after she won on her WTA main draw debut. The Ukrainian, who is just 19, was in dominant form as she thrashed former Grand Slam champion Sloane Stephens in straight sets. Podrez made it three straight wins, including qualifying, as she won 6-2 6-1.
Cocciaretto will need to be wary of the teenager, but she has a lot more experience and will be favoured to come through in straight sets.
