Elisabetta Cocciaretto vs Coco Gauff prediction

Elisabetta Cocciaretto marked her return from injury with a comfortable win over Darja Semenistaja in the first-round of the Miami Open. The Italian won the first four games of the match and despite a slight blip towards the end of the first set, came through to win 6-4 6-1 after just an hour and 12 minutes. 

Coco Gauff is her next opponent. The American was forced to retire from her third-match against Alexandra Eala at Indian Wells due to a nerve issue in her arm. Gauff has been pretty consistent at the start of the season but is yet to pick up a title or make a final. 

Gauff leads the head-to-head 3-1 but Cocciaretto won their meeting earlier this year, pulling off an upset by beating the two-time Grand Slam singles champion in the second round of the Qatar Open. The American has admitted that she has not completely overcome the injury, while she is yet to make it past the round-of-16 at this tournament.

Cocciaretto is certainly the underdog, but she has already caused problems for Gauff this season and could do so again.
