Elisabetta Cocciaretto managed a win in the main draw of her home event last time out but the Italian then lost heavily to five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek in the second-round. She has competed in five events on clay over the past six weeks, including two 125 events, but she has failed to go beyond that stage in any of them.
Camila Osorio’s form has slowed in recent weeks with consecutive early losses in Madrid and Parma. She could also only make the second-round of Madrid as she lost to Elise Mertens in straight sets. The Colombian did get off to a perfect start on clay at the beginning of April with a win at Copa Colsanitas but there has undoubtedly been a dip since then.
This will be their first match on clay but Cocciaretto does lead the head-to-head 2-0, winning their most recent match in the first-round of Wimbledon in 2023. Osorio has greater credentials on clay and does have a title on the surface under her belt this season. We back her to advance in three sets.
