Elina Svitolina continued her strong form as she eased into the third-round of the Miami Open with a straight sets win over Emerson Jones. The 17-year-old won her first ever match at a Masters event in the first-round, but she could only force the one break point as she was beaten 6-2 6-4 by Svitolina. The Ukrainian has already won 20 matches in 2026.

Her next opponent is Hailey Baptiste. The American pulled off a scalp in the previous round as she beat Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets. Baptiste, who reached the semi-finals of the Abu Dhabi Open last month, was not at her best on serve and was broken when serving for the match initially.
