Emma Raducanu’s fantastic form will be put to the test against ninth seed Elena Rybakina in one of the stand-out ties of the 2025 US Open so far.
The Brit has been catching the eye with quick-fire wins and seems to be revelling in her link-up with new coach Francisco Roig.
However, Rybakina has the easy power to push the Brit way back beyond the baseline and out of her comfort zone, and the world number 36 will need real resilience and defensive nous to come out on top.
The Kazakhstani has also been in great form on hardcourts having reached the final in Cincinnati on the back of semi-final runs in Montreal and Washington.
Rybakina also won their only previous meeting 6-0 6-1 in Sydney three years ago, which suggests the match-up doesn’t quite suit Raducanu. That said, the former US Open champion is certainly on another level at this stage of 2025 and while her run may well end here, there could be value in backing her for the upset or it going the distance.
