Elche vs Girona prediction

Elche are battling away in mid-table at the moment, with a recent draw with Real Madrid a particular standout, but they are struggling to convert draws into wins in La Liga.

Eder Sarabia's men are now seven games without a win in league football, and they were taken to extra-time by CD Quintanar Del Rey in cup action on Wednesday, eventually beating the fourth tier outfit 1-2 thanks to a 118th-minute winner from Hector Fort.

There was Copa del Rey misery for Getafe though, who were surprisingly beaten 2-1 by Ourense CF in their own second round encounter midweek.

Girona's league for has been a little more promising though. Michel's side also took a point from Real Madrid recently, which made it five points collected from the last nine available.

Despite their cup setback, Girona's recent league results will surely give them confidence that they can get a result here. Elche haven't been convincing in the league for the most part, so the visitors could be good value for a point on Sunday.
