Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Jaqueline Cristian prediction

Ekaterina Alexandrova ended a four-match losing run as she beat Lilli Tagger in the second-round of the Miami Open. The Russian was broken in the middle of the first set but then went on to reel off four games in a row as she took control of the match. A controlled second set saw Alexandrova seal a 6-3 6-3 win.

She now faces Jaqueline Cristian. The Romanian beat Peyton Stearns in straight sets. Cristian went ahead but a tight second set saw four consecutive breaks of serve. Nevertheless, she broke again and served it out to win 6-4 7-5.

The head-to-head is tied at 1-1. Alexandrova won their first meeting comfortably in Tokyo last year, but Cristian would draw level after coming out on top in straight sets at the start of the year in Adelaide. 

Alexandrova will start as the favourite, but Cristian could force errors and is certainly worth a set in this match.
