Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Anna Bondar prediction

Anna Bondar was in a much more ruthless mood as she outclassed Sinja Kraus to reach the quarter-finals in Hamburg.

The Hungarian seventh seed had a blip in her first round clash with Noma Noha Akugue, but was laser-focused throughout her 6-3 6-2 round of 16 success over the Austrian.

Bondar will now meet Ekaterina Alexandrova after the top seed romped to a 6-2 6-2 win over Germany’s Caroline Werner.

This will be their second meeting, although their first was way back in 2018 with the Russia winning 7-6 6-4 on clay in Budapest.

Much has changed since then, but Alexandrova is enjoying an excellent year and knows a run to the final here will guarantee her a shift up to a career-high 12 in the rankings.

We don’t expect her to blink in this encounter with the top seed a strong bet to go on and lift the title this week.
