Eintracht Frankfurt are perhaps the most entertaining team to watch in European football as they continue their Bundesliga campaign with the visit of Augsburg.

Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Entertaining Eintracht

Coached by Dino Toppmoller, Eintracht Frankfurt’s 13 Bundesliga matches have consisted of 57 goals with 88 goals coming in their 21 matches across all competitions, with a porous defence and an often electric attack.

They were the better of the two sides in midweek in a 2-1 loss to Barcelona in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League, undone by a Jules Kounde brace against the Blaugrana at Camp Nou.

Augsburg preview: Steady Augsburg

Augsburg come into this one on the back of a vital and much-needed, impressive victory last weekend with a 2-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen at the WWK Arena with goals from Dimitris Giannoulis and Anton Kade.

The Augsburgers have struggled at the start of the season with that being just their fourth victory thus far. It was their second win in three games, though, after they beat Hamburg last month after the November international break.

Eintracht Frankfurt team news: Attacking injuries

Eintracht Frankfurt are dealing with a couple of striking injury concerns for this one as summer signing Jonathan Burkardt is sidelined alongside former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Zetterer; Collins, Koch, Theate; Kristensen, Chaibi, Dahoud, Brown; Doan, Bahoya; Wahi

Unavailable: Burkardt (Injured), Batshuayi (Injured)

Questionable:

Augsburg team news: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns for Augsburg to deal with ahead of the trip to Frankfurt this weekend but they do remain without defender Jeffrey Gouweleeuw due to a knee injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Dahmen; Banks, Matsima, Zesiger; Kade, Fellhauer, Massengo, Giannoulis; Rieder, Komur; Essende

Unavailable: Gouweleeuw (Injured)

Questionable:

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Augsburg prediction

Frankfurt have an abundance of attacking options. The argument would be that if they toned down just how intense and aggressive they are off the ball, they would be even better but the reason that they can put in some of their stellar performances is because of just how extreme they are. They face an Augsburg side that have a limited level of quality, despite a recent improvement, and Frankfurt, with home advantage, would have to be viewed as the favourites for this one.
