The first-leg of this UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie saw Kauno Zalgiris share a 1-1 draw with Drita Gjilan at the Darius and Girenas Stadium in Kaunas, Lithuania. Kauno took a 24th minute lead via Amine Benchaib before Drita equalised deep in the second half via Albanian forward Blerim Krasniqi.

Drita reached the knockout playoff round of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, while Kauno have never made it past the third qualifying round of the UECL, a round they reached last season after victories over Penybont and then Valur Reykjavik.

Kauno have shown some improvement on the European stage in the last couple of seasons but Drita will be expected to progress, especially with home advantage in this second-leg.
