The Latvian raced to a 6-2 6-2 win over the German and will now battle Despina Papamichail for a spot in the last eight.
The Greek was equally dominant as she beat Russia’s Anastasia Tikhonova 6-3 6-1.
This is a hard one to call given neither have much form in main draws with Darja sitting 65 places better off at 98 in the world.
