Denis Shapovalov vs Filip Misolic prediction

Denis Shapovalov breezed through his first-round match, beating Pablo Martinez with the loss of just five games. The Canadian won 6-2 6-0 6-3 and is now aiming for a third consecutive third-round appearance at Roland Garros. He has not been in the best of form since reaching the final of the Mexican Open in early March, but was rarely troubled against Martinez.

He takes on Filip Misolic in the next round after the Austrian made it four straight wins including qualifying. He recovered from going a set down to Yunchaokete Bu, winning 5-7 7-6 7-6 6-1. He was under pressure in the second and third sets but managed to save 12 out of 15 break points overall. He’s been in decent form heading into this slam, having won the Prague Challenger two weeks prior and also making the quarter-finals of the Zagreb Open.

Shapovalov is the clear favourite and is likely to come out on top, but Misolic has had a very encouraging clay court campaign, mainly on the Challenger Tour, and shouldn’t be completely disregarded.
