Daniil Medvedev vs Jannik Sinner prediction
Daniil Medvedev ended two-time champion Carlos Alcaraz’s perfect start to 2026 to reach his third final at Indian Wells.
The Russian extended his own winning streak to ten matches (including one walkover) with a shock 6-3 7-6 triumph over the world number one.
The 11th seed will now meet Jannik Sinner for the 16th time after the Italian swept to a 6-2 6-4 victory over Alexander Zverev.
Sinner leads the head-to-head 8-7 but has won the last three and eight of their last nine encounters.
Neither player has dropped a set over the last week and a half so something will have to give.
The world number two will be the favourite as he targets a maiden title in the desert, but he also appeared to be troubled by a back problem against Zverev and any slight issue with fitness could open the door for an in-form Daniil.
If Sinner is fully fit, he will be confident as he would have expected to be facing what has often been his kryptonite in the shape of Alcaraz. Indeed, Jannik has been almost unbeatable for the rest of the tour over the past two years and it would be brave to back against him here, so if you want value it could be in over 21.5 games or three sets.
Daniil Medvedev vs Jannik Sinner tip: Over 2.5 sets
